In this world, on this globe
I would choose Greece
Without persuasion or a probe
It’s tall historic buildings
And it’s dusty sun drenched towns
They wipe away your worries
And suntan away your frowns
Gorgeous fresh oceans
Stretching as far as the eye can see
Salty, filled with fish and crabs
That I’ll be eating for my tea
The Greeks, they are friendly
They chatter in their foreign accents
“English rose” they call me
I love their compliments
Gyros, tzatiki and white fish
Their traditional tasty food
I could eat it all day
It puts me in such a good mood
When flying over Greece
The islands, cities and towns
I can’t wait for the plane to swoop
Dive down, down down
When you step out of the plane
The heat hits you, scorching, warm,
ablaze
“30 degrees”
The thermometer says
Olympic games, historic sites
Never tired of being here
If I could choose a place to visit
It’d be Greece , and I would cheer
